We went to the Zoo!!!
It was quite sometime ago actually, end of April actually. Was Yenling’s birthday that weekend and we decided to visit the Zoo and Bird Park. As there are quite a number of photos, I will just give a short description of each photo. Enjoy!
Lets start with our visit to our FAMOUS Singapore Zoo.
They like dunking themselves into the water and we can see floating dung around them actually.
Baby orangutan playing with it’s mum.
This was taken from the “Breakfast with wildlife” area.
Another shot of baby orangutan.
The penguin are grooming themselves.
White Tiger.
Interesting facts: Our white tiger are not albino, albino tigers have red eyes. Ours have BLUE eyes and they are white cause presence of a recessive gene. For more information about white tiger, go google it yourself or visit the zoo. =)
White tiger have lighter colours stripes too.
There are some humongous fish in the water that looks like it is big enough to eat these little monkeys.
The “Night at the museum” monkey.
Orangutan at photo taking session.
It’s interesting how smart they are looking at the way they behave.
Taking a break before the Animal Show
Showing their strength by ripping a coconut open.
Cant remember what lizard this is.
Mercat looking out for danger, just like what we see on Nat Geo.
Having food thrown to them everyday. ZzzZ
Can they actually sense that the lions are near?
The way to differentiate them between White Rhino and Black Rhino is by looking at their mouth. White Rhino has wider mouth. Wide mount = White Rhino. Get it?.. “wide” “white” “wide” “white”
A closer look at their wide mouth.
I like this innovative way of giving directions.
River Safari – Highly NOT recommended. Please don’t waste your time. But if you have a free ticket and you want to rest your tired legs and waste some time looking at nothing. feel free to try it out. If this is considered a Safari, I don’t what are those that we see outside.
On our way to “Elephant at work and play” show.
Showing their ability to balance themselves on a log.
Wise Chimpanzee deep in thoughts.
A very complicated social system. Living together in such small area make things worst. And yes, they love to fight.
Probably it’s thinking how to make a knot.
Alright guys. That’s all for now.
For those who are interested in the equipment I used, All photos are taken using Nikon D90 with Nikkor 28 – 300mm lens.
